The Band held its Annual Holiday Party at the Champp’s Restaurant at Northpoint Mall again this year. Mitzi O’Connell was responsible for party arrangements. She also decorated the room for us–Thanks Mitzi! Members and significant others were able to select from the Champp’s menu, guaranteeing that they could have whatever they wanted for dinner.

A real treat this year was the first ever public performance of the clarinet choir organized, promoted and enthusiastically supported by our own “big guy” clarinet section member, Rett Waller. The group is considering calling itself the “Give a Toots Clarinet Choir” but still working on an official name. It’s in committee right now and should be out in two or three years. The Director is Alice Bryan who, like our own Bob Martin, is a most patient person. The Toots includes from 15 to 20 players, several from the RNHB clarinet section, depending on the weather, time of day and distance from a TV on ballgame days. The Toots range from 40 to 87 years of age and 1/2 to 50 years of tooting experience. They play level 1,2,3,4 and play at level 5 & 6 !!!! For our party, the Toots played Holiday songs, some light classical and some Broadway and movie tunes.  The Toots report having had a blast playing for the RNHB Holiday Party.

Our President, John Lauer, presented Bob Martin a Holiday present from band members.

A good time was had by all!
